Closing Information

1.Whenever Dover Public Schools are closed for a weather emergency, SHS is also closed.

2.If Dover Public Schools will have a delayed opening due to weather condition, SHS will be open at 10 A.M. for all classes.

3.Pre-school classes will be held on days when school begins at 10 A.M. ; they will be dismissed at 12:15 on these days.

4.Before School Care will not be available on days that school is closed or if there is a delayed opening at 10 A.M. (You may be able to arrange with another parent to bring your child to school on these days if you have to leave earlier for work.)

5.If Dover Public Schools have an early dismissal due to weather conditions, SHS as a rule will close at 12:15 P.M. After Care is not available on these days.

6.Room Mothers will call parents EACH time there is an emergency : school day closings, delayed openings, or early dismissal. It is vital that the school office and your respective Room Parent have correct information regarding telephone numbers to be called and the arrangements made for your child to leave the school when there is an early dismissal due to weather emergencies. If you are not able to arrive in a timely manner please make arrangements for your child to go home with another family from the school. This information should be given to your Room Mother and/or to the school office.
